Preservation Needs Assessment

Miles & District Historical Society received funding through the National Libraries of Australia to undertake a Preservation Needs Assessment in 2015. Committee members and volunteers have been working with Christine Ianna (our wonderful consultant) to develop the Plan.  The Process has involved assessing the Museum Collections to develop a Preservation Needs Assessment Plan with actions and prioritised recommendations.

The target outcomes in developing the plan are to:

  • Identify actions & recommendations that can inform strategic planning
  • Better understandings on how to care for the collections
  • Improve Museum & Gallery standards and practices
  • Over time find opportunities to apply for funding to assist in the future care and preservation of the collections
