Discover Stories With History Pin

Recently the Miles Historical Village Museum started a History Pin profile after being inspired at a State Library Workshop, of the potential of the Social Media Platform. History Pin allows communities and history enthusiasts from all over the world to share photos, text documents, audio and videos to specific geographical locations. History groups, Schools and Archive Institutes are just some of the groups who have shared stories to this platform.

The Miles Historical Village would like to encourage the Miles Community to use this platform to share their own historical stories and family pictures from the area. You can easily create your own account to do this or your can join the Murilla History Group, which is a new group that is in need of more team members to build up our local history archives.

To join the Murilla History Group please contact Anne on

ABC Radio Segment

On the 8th September as part of the Beef Bells and Bottle Tree Festival; Kylie Bourne and Kerry Mulholland sat down to a wonderful morning interview with ABC Radio Southern Queensland’s David Iliffe and Belinda Sanders.  This interview provided a wonderful opportunity to talk about Miles Historical Village Museums history, facilities, services and of course Anniversary Day. Kylie and Kerry were expecting a short interview, however were very pleased and excited about the focus and attention that was provided to help promote and share our amazing cultural tourism asset. A very big thank you is extended to the Festival Committee for including the museum in this interview schedule and also ABC Radio Southern Queensland for their genuine and generous interview.
